Permission Machine mediates in copyright infringements

Permission Machine was founded in 2013 by Ywein Van den Brande, an IT engineer and lawyer specialising in ICT law and intellectual property. The company was launched with the help of imec and Participatiemaatschappij Vlaanderen, with the aim of offering an alternative way of identifying and pursuing copyright infringements for photographers and photo agencies. This allows them a more efficient and cheaper way of finding a solution – without the need to engage lawyers, but with the personal touch and expertise a lawyer would offer.

We are a Belgian company headquartered in Antwerp. You can verify our status through Belgium’s Crossroads Bank for Enterprises by entering our company number (0541.831.904) or clicking on this link. Permission Machine is registered as a management entity with Belgium’s Federal Public Service (FPS) Economy.

In addition to our office in Antwerp, we also have offices in London, Paris and Los Angeles, employing 35 staff members. We also have an extensive network of lawyers and bailiffs to offer us support where required. We serve clients around the world, and draw up more than 10,000 settlement files on an annual basis.

“At Permission Machine, we know that creative work takes a lot of time, effort and expertise. That’s why we believe creative minds deserve fair compensation. And that is our mission: making sure that creatives get the compensation they deserve for their hard work. We do this by helping them resolve copyright infringements.”
